Hardware Repair and Rework Capabilities
ACME Worldwide Enterprises, Inc.
provides hardware repair and rework support and services for
the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps under our NAMTS contract and also
for the U.S. Air Force through our support to Lockheed Martin
under the ATARS contract.
ACME provides manufacturing capabilities
in the following areas:
a) Repair and re-work
of simulated cockpit instruments - ACME provides a repair
service for the hundreds of cockpit simulated instruments on
various trainers. ACME supports instruments manufactured by all
three of the major simulator manufacturers.
b) Reverse
engineering and investigations into finding obsolete or hard
to find parts - Many trainers are several years
old, and individual parts and components needed to keep the
trainers operational are becoming difficult to acquire. ACME
will either find the obsolete components or reverse engineer
the component by analyzing the system to keep the equipment
operational.
c) Providing engineering
design for trainer components and systems which have an unacceptable
high maintenance requirement. Due to high trainer utilization
as well as other factors, there are some assemblies which
have an unacceptable high maintenance requirement. One such example
was the parking brake for the MH-60G OFT. ACME redesigned
the simulated parking brake to improve its trainer performance.
ACME also redesigned a seat lock for the MH-60G WST, and
spare cyclic sticks for the MH-60G OFT.
The repair and fabrication
of components is done using the ACME QA and CM processes and
procedures.
