ACME Worldwide Enterprises, Inc. (ACME) has been selected by Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), to provide replica weapon systems for the US Marine Corps’ (USMC) five Marine Common Aircrew Trainers (MCATs) developed by Kratos.
Under the MCAT subcontract, ACME will provide M240, GAU-21, GAU-17 replica weapons and modified aircraft mounts for the aircrew trainers. The gunnery training systems will feature ACME’s patented, all-electric Gun Active Recoil system that provides full-force recoil and at full rate of fire.
“This program has exciting new capabilities and features… it’s going to bring aviation gunnery training to a whole new level especially for in-flight weapon malfunctions” said ACME’s president, Randy Gurulé. “We look forward to this new program and the opportunity to work again with Kratos and the USMC.
The contract extends ACME’s long history providing unique weapon training systems for customers. Since 2005, ACME has produced more the 300 gun-recoil systems used nationwide in US Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard simulators. ACME’s machine gun simulators are used for gunnery training in shipboard systems; on trucks, armored assault vehicles, and ground based systems; and in a range of helicopter simulators.
